Launch of Virtual Mindfulness Yoga
Our sessions will involve specific poses and activities to build mindfulness by teaching children to focus on the breath, through meditation and relaxation practice.
Our highly skilled teacher will teach your children visualisation through
adventure and storytelling; Children will learn awareness of both the physical body and emotional self. There is an emerging body of research that indicates that mindfulness can help children improve their abilities to pay attention, to calm down when they are upset and to make better decisions. In short in helps with emotional regulation and cognitive focus.
So where do we start? How can we teach these important skills to our children?
When: Monday 11th -1st February starting at 10 am
Who: Aimed at toddlers and over 2s
Session One: Imaginary winter walk
- Large warm socks
- A blanket which will represent the snow and the feeling of cold.
Session Two : Awareness of both the physical body and emotional self through exploring your senses
- Lemongrass- to invigorate our senses
- Lavender- properties exploring relaxing and relaxing our mind and head
- Peppermint- open our chests and lungs
- Ginger- stomach
- Cinnamon- boost energy (focusing on legs and feet)
Session Three: An imaginary trip to the farm
- Farm animals
Sessions Four: Awareness of both the physical body and emotional self by exploring music and movement.
